A Patented Composite Technology

With over 100 U.S. and international patents, this ultra-thin, ultra-light, flexible technology was initially developed for military and law enforcement applications. These advanced materials handle blunt force trauma more effectively than virtually all plastics and foams. Aramid fibers, which provide a tensile strength five times greater than steel on an equal weight basis, are tightly spun into long strands that form a dense net. When a high-velocity projectile hits the net, the fibers catch the projectile and absorb and dissipate the impact energy.

Unequal’s technology blocks shock in two ways. If the impact shock comes on the x-axis, the top layer of elastomer initially dampens it at the point of contact. Then, the aramid fibers redirect and scatter the remaining energy on the y and z axes, preventing most of the impact energy from entering the body.
