The XV HD features a moisture and heat management system that allows airflow to and from the body, enabling the skin to dry and the body to naturally continue its cooling process. The pad also incorporates high-density EVA foam for increased impact absorption and durability, along with a ventilated arch that includes raised corrugations and 7mm vent holes. Additionally, pre-drilled holes are provided for accessory attachment.
Furthermore, this pad includes a clavicle channel system that specifically targets impact around the AC joint. It is designed to be low profile to enhance mobility and is the lightest varsity shoulder pad available while still maintaining professional-level standards. For QB/WR positions, an attached back plate and smaller arch cut are included to reduce interference from plastic. The arch cut also provides maximum range of motion and versatility.
